Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer Job

This role plays a key part in enhancing the educational outcomes of Aboriginal and Islander students.

  • Provision of educational and cultural support to these students
  • Program development and implementation to boost cultural responsiveness and student learning opportunities
  • Collaboration with teachers, parents, and community members to promote student achievement and well-being
  • Contribution to a school-level team for education and behaviour management program development and evaluation

Essential skills include strong interpersonal and organisational abilities, as well as effective working in culturally diverse environments.

Selection Criteria:
  • Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with students, teachers, parents, and community members
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a school-level team
  • Capacity to assist teachers in implementing educational and behaviour management programs
  • Good organisational skills and ability to deliver effective education programs
