Senior Public Policy Advisor

This role presents an opportunity to contribute to a sustainable social and community impact strategy focused on reducing vehicle emissions for cleaner, healthier air.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze complex topics related to sustainable transport funding and reduce vehicle emissions by providing credible, technically sound evidence to support policy positions and projects.
  • Identify and assess industry trends and developments.
  • Provide research and public policy advice to influence or respond to government policy.
  • Respond to queries from members and external organizations.
  • Scope, commission, and manage projects as required.
  • Investigate and develop potential new policy positions on sustainable transport.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders covering both government and industry.
  • Represent the organization on external committees and working groups, and present research and insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements

Qualifications in public policy, environmental, or social sciences are required.

Experience writing policy, discussion papers, submissions, and reports is necessary.

Previous experience working for an advocacy group, transport authority, local government, consultancy, or similar is beneficial.

Technical, conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Excellent written and verbal communicative skills, along with attention to detail, are required.

Ability to participate in and influence internal and external committees and other forums is crucial.
