Process Operator Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced process operator to join our team at SpaceX's Starbase facility in Texas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining complex industrial processes, including engines, motors, fluid piping, electrical equipment, and instrumented controls.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor process parameters and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and correct deviations from standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and fabricators to implement fluid and mechanical designs in the field
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures and training materials
  • Coordinate across multiple disciplines to ensure required resources are available to complete builds
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology and 4+ years of experience working with automated processes OR a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and 6+ years of experience in one of the following areas:
    • Control room operations
    • Plant operations
    • Mechanic/millwright support
    • Instrumentation/electrical operations
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Basic understanding of process parameters and engineering units for temperature, pressure, flow, and power
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID and schematic wiring diagrams
  • Familiarity with mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of malfunctions, disassembly of industrial machinery, and repair/replacement of bearings, gears, structural components
