Job Summary

This role involves assisting in the creation, development, testing and implementation of radio frequency (RF) communication systems for unmanned aircraft systems.

The engineer will collaborate with Senior Engineers to support projects related to wireless communication technologies, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.

  • Design and Development:
    • Selecting and specifying RF components such as radios, antennas, and cable assemblies for system design.
    • Developing link analysis/link budgets for digital datalinks.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conducting RF testing and measurements to validate system performance against specifications.
    • Analyzing test data and troubleshooting RF systems to identify and resolve issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Working closely with hardware, software, and systems engineers to integrate RF components into larger systems.
    • Collaborating with external vendors and partners to source components and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Preparing technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
    • Maintaining accurate records of design changes and testing results.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • E nsuring all RF designs adhere to relevant regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Project Management:
    • Participating in project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
    • Providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle from concept to deployment.

To be successful, candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in RF engineering and proficiency in using RF test equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are also required.
