Strategic Financial Planning Director

As the driving force behind our Group's financial planning and analysis, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our leadership's decision-making processes and capital market activities, including fundraising and mergers and acquisitions.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Developing and owning medium to long-term Group financial planning approaches and models
  • Providing timely, accurate and reliable financial forecasts and actionable analysis to our leaders
  • Proactively identifying performance improvement opportunities and risks
  • Leading strategic projects to deliver value-enhancing outcomes
  • Supporting the continual development of the KPI and metric repositories for use in financial models or assessments and supporting the development of our Group's ESG planning and reporting
  • Serving as the key point of contact to our Capital Investment Committee, offering analysis and advice to assist their decision-making

You are a highly motivated and resourceful team player with strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills. Your ability to present and report complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders clearly and succinctly is proof of your excellent communication skills.

Ideally, you will also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, though these are not essential
  • Professional certifications such as CA or CFA qualified, which are desirable
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, or related roles
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including a strong understanding of corporate finance principles, approaches to forecasting, financial markets, and accounting concepts
  • Hands-on experience of developing complex financial forecast models, which is essential
  • High proficiency in Excel and exposure to both group planning and reporting systems
  • Knowledge of the steel industry and its value drivers, which is highly preferred
  • Experience using TM1 (Planning Analytics) and SAP, which is also preferred
