Job Opportunity

The Department of Education, Western Australia seeks a proactive and motivated Cleaner in Charge to join their team at Atwell Primary School.

The ideal candidate will ensure school facilities are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Department of Education procedures. They will also be responsible for:

  • Liaising with the Manager Corporate Services on all cleaning matters;
  • Recording and responding to issues and concerns detailed in the communication book;
  • Reporting maintenance issues and assisting in keeping the school well-maintained and optimised for student learning;
  • Maintaining the cleaner's time book;
  • Arranging relief staff;
  • Monitoring and ordering stock supplies; and
  • Conducting stocktakes of cleaning resources.

The successful applicant will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be energetic and experienced in supervising and motivating staff. They will also have a high level of attention to detail and knowledge of DoE Cleaning Policies and Procedures.

This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025. The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm.

Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities Maintenance

The Cleaner in Charge will be responsible for ensuring that school facilities are clean and maintained according to Department of Education procedures.

They will work closely with the Manager Corporate Services to liaise on all cleaning matters and ensure that issues and concerns are recorded and responded to promptly.

In addition, they will maintain the cleaner's time book, arrange relief staff, monitor and order stock supplies, and conduct stocktakes of cleaning resources.

Leadership and Communication

The successful applicant will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience in supervising and motivating staff.

They will be energetic and able to work effectively as part of a team, with a high level of attention to detail and knowledge of DoE Cleaning Policies and Procedures.
