About the Role

The Graduate Tax Analyst is responsible for providing tax support to the Tax team in the ANZ Region and their network of global branches and subsidiaries. This position involves supporting tax compliance matters including income tax return preparation and consolidation of the SMEC Group tax effect accounting for statutory and internal reporting.

This role also provides support for the provision of tax advice on projects, ensuring timely and accurate Group Tax reporting, and monitoring and adhering to ANZ and Group policies, procedures, systems, and controls for processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation of all tax compliance obligations for entities in the Australia and New Zealand Region.
  • Ensure Group Tax reporting is timely and accurate, including assistance with preparation of provisions as well as year-end reporting requirements.
  • Support the handling of transfer pricing/BEPS/Pillar 2 requests and information analysis.
  • Monitor and adhere to ANZ and Group policies, procedures, systems, and controls for processes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Additionally, experience in a similar role within a corporate environment is preferred. Growing knowledge of organisation's taxes, tax accounting procedures related to work performed is essential. Understanding of spreadsheets, data analysis, and reconciliation procedures is also required. Finally, you should be able to deal appropriately with confidential/sensitive information.
