Release of Information Officer Job Description

The Release of Information Officer is responsible for processing Release of Information (ROI) requests in compliance with legislation, NSW Health Policy and HIRS procedures. This involves handling inquiries and applying appropriate decision-making before releasing information to support ongoing patient care.

This role requires strong communication and customer service skills to handle daily interactions with healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will have experience in a Health Information and Record Service/Medical Records Department or related record-keeping systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing ROI requests
  • Handling inquiries and communicating with healthcare professionals
  • Applying decision-making to release information

Additional requirements include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Required Skills and Qualifications

What You Will Bring to the Role
