About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Open Space Planner to join our Planning team at Maribyrnong City Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of strategies, plans, and policies that will guide the future provision and management of our open space assets.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to think strategically, analyse complex situations, and develop creative solutions to achieve outcomes. You will also have demonstrated experience in community consultation and stakeholder management, as well as the ability to develop effective working relationships within an organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement open space strategies, plans, and policies that align with the Council's vision and goals.
  • Lead the prioritisation of funds collected via Open Space Developer Contributions and implement the Council's Open Space Strategy.
  • Advise and guide on open space planning issues across the department and organisation.
