Job Title: Education Support Specialist

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an education support specialist to make a positive impact on the lives of students. The role involves working in various settings within the school, supporting students with diverse needs and abilities.

The successful applicant will have effective teaching strategies and classroom management skills to enhance student learning and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of a range of disabilities and be able to implement strategies to support and enhance individual development in all areas. They will also be able to positively manage a team of education assistants to create a safe and supportive learning environment, engage with the school community, and work with families, therapists, and external agencies to improve student outcomes.

In this role, you will plan, program, and assess using an integrated curriculum. You will work collaboratively with other educators to achieve positive educational outcomes for students. You will also be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.

Requirements:
  • Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
  • Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before starting
