Sr Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading proposal process, performing site visits and working with project managers and designers to prepare construction drawings and calculations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the proposal process by providing clients with input on design options, project schedules and code review.
  • Perform site visits to existing facilities for renovation/addition projects for information gathering on existing conditions.
  • Work with project managers and designers and collaborate with other disciplines to prepare construction drawings and calculations within AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Perform quality control review analyses to ensure final documents and specifications exceed client expectations.
  • Conduct interdisciplinary coordination and manage final reviews/approvals between disciplines and agencies and respond to comments.
  • Continue involvement through the construction process including submittal review, RFI response, field visits and closeout documentation.

Required Skills:

  • Perform full HVAC system design and sizing (equipment, ductwork, piping, ventilation, controls etc.) including full load calculations and equipment selection.
  • Coordinate and integrate HVAC systems with other building services (such as electrical, plumbing, structural, architectural and fire protection) to ensure seamless functionality, compliance with building codes and optimal performance in the overall building infrastructure.
  • Produce HVAC design drawing packages (plans, schedules, construction details, specifications, sequences of operation and life safety).
