Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

This role focuses on traction power systems and rail electrification projects, supporting clients across the full asset lifecycle from strategic planning to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Traction Power Systems Design: Develop and coordinate traction power systems and infrastructure
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare and review technical reports, feasibility studies, and protection studies
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Electrification Design: Engage in AC/DC traction electrification design and substation design
  • Mentorship and Team Management: Mentor junior engineers and manage design packages and teams
  • Tender Proposals: Contribute to tender proposals and understand client requirements
  • Earth Grid Design Principles: Apply HV/LV earth grid design principles and safety standards
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics or Power Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years' experience in detailed traction power supply engineering design
  • High Voltage and Low Voltage Systems: Strong background in High Voltage and Low Voltage systems, including earth grid design
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in software such as PSCAD, MATLAB, ETAP, DiaLux, Opentrak, OpenPowerNet (preferred)
  • Standards Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of IEC/EN/ASA/AS/AMB standards
  • Site Exposure: Site exposure on traction electrification works (preferred)
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Autonomy and Scope Management: Ability to work autonomously and manage scope effectively
