Job Overview

The Senior Policy Analyst / Advisor will develop policy positions in areas including the tertiary education legislative framework, international education and student visa policy.

  • Analyse government policy to determine impacts on operations and objectives
  • Assist with the development of government relations strategy
  • Develop advocacy plans for specific government campaigns
  • Build and manage relationships of trust with key stakeholders
  • Prepare submissions for policy reviews and consultative processes
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to advance proposals to attract support
Requirements
  • A degree with substantial relevant experience or extensive experience and policy expertise in tertiary education or other complex regulatory environments
  • A sound understanding and knowledge of policy, operations and emerging trends in the tertiary education sector in Australia
  • Experience producing high quality briefings, policy positions and written material
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop strong cross-organisational relationships and partnerships
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to incorporate data analysis into recommendations and decisions
