Transportation Planning and Engineering Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planning and Engineering Professional to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation engineers and highway safety specialists on various public, private, and institutional projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the development of innovative traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for multiple transportation projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Performing intersection and corridor operational analyses using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, and other analysis tools to optimize traffic flow and minimize congestion.
  • Analyzing, developing, and evaluating of traffic improvements to enhance road safety and reduce travel times.
  • Developing conceptual intersection/roadway improvement design and traffic signal design plans in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to improve traffic efficiency and safety.
  • Developing traffic management and signal timing plans to minimize delays and maximize traffic flow.
  • Preparing written documents, summarizing data and analysis, and assembling reports to convey findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collecting and tabulating traffic data to inform decision-making and improve transportation systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 0 to 1 years of transportation experience, preferably related to traffic or safety.
  • Experience with Synchro/SimTraffic, Sidra, VISSIM, TransModeler and/or other capacity software is a plus.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and/or other planning/design/data software is a plus.

This is an entry-level position that requires strong computer skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to learn, think critically, and develop new skills.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for transportation planning and engineering and a strong desire to make a positive impact on communities through safe and efficient transportation systems.
