The University of Adelaide is seeking a skilled researcher to join our team in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine. As a weed science researcher, you will play a crucial role in addressing weed ecology and management in the Southern Grains Region.

Our team is working on a project that aims to better understand seed ecology of target weed species and develop effective weed management programs for farmers in this region. We are looking for a motivated individual with a PhD or equivalent experience in agricultural science, environmental science, or a related field.

Your primary responsibilities will include undertaking laboratory studies on weed seed ecology and conducting field trials on management of target weeds in the southern region. You will work closely with growers, agronomists, and industry partners to deliver outcomes that benefit the grains industry.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or equivalent experience in agricultural science, environmental science, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and undertaking agronomic and/or weed science research
  • Knowledge of dryland farming systems and an ability to interact with growers and agronomists
  • A publication record in scholarly journals relative to opportunity

We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $98,574 to $105,611 per annum, plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation. You will also have access to high-quality professional development programs, a health clinic, gym, and other fitness facilities.
