Job Description

This fixed-term, full-time position is available for three years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cancer Metabolism working at the South Australian Immunogenomics Cancer Institute (SAiGENCI). You will join Professor Lisa Butler's Prostate Cancer Research Group and lead innovative spatial profiling studies to define and target the molecular mechanisms of lipid metabolic reprogramming in prostate cancer.

You will drive independent research projects, collaborate with team members and our broader research network, mentor Honours and Postgraduate research students, contribute to grant writing and funding applications, and participate in the group's research and teaching activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful, you will need:

  • A Ph.D. in cancer metabolism, biochemistry, or cell biology.
  • A clear record of driving success in your own research, demonstrated by a strong publication record focusing on cancer metabolism.
  • Experience in molecular biology, cell culture, in vivo cancer models, and metabolic assays. Experience with prostate cancer research and preclinical models is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and productive manner within the team and with collaborators.
  • Effective communication skills, including experience in scientific writing for research articles and grant applications, and delivering presentations at scientific meetings.
