This is a specialist mental health role in school settings where you will lead education and early intervention, supporting student mental health and driving change across Western Sydney.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver expert mental health care in school environments
- Support early identification and referral of students at risk
- Lead suicide prevention and complex behaviour management initiatives
- Provide clinical guidance, consultation, and service planning to enhance mental health outcomes
- Contribute to research, policy development, and model of care evolution
- Fully registered Psychologist with a Master's degree; Social Worker and Occupational Therapist as per award
- Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Psychologist & Occupational Therapist; Social Worker eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Demonstrated expertise in working with children and youth in mental health settings or educational environments
- Proven understanding of and experience in collaborating with schools
- Able to work collaboratively across professions and services
- Ability to manage a high volume of work within deadlines
- Knowledge of concepts such as promotion, prevention, early intervention, and evidence-based practice in mental health
- Capacity to collaborate meaningfully with children, young people, and carers/families while upholding recovery principles in mental health
- Current driver's license valid in Australia
This role requires an ability to build strong relationships with teachers, staff, and other stakeholders in schools. You will work closely with educators to promote mental health awareness and develop strategies to support student well-being.
