We are seeking a skilled professional to join our mental health care team.
The role involves providing comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessment, safety planning, and collaborative care and discharge planning for clients in need of acute care services.
This position is part of a multidisciplinary team that works together to deliver high-quality services to patients/clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for exercising independent professional judgement on routine matters commensurate with years of experience.
A key aspect of this role is the ability to communicate effectively with patients/clients, engage them proactively in their care, and enhance service delivery through strong interpersonal skills.
In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with people who have an acute mental illness or disorder, as well as understanding and knowledge of consumer-focused and strengths-based practices in acute community mental health settings.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with AASW.
- Alternatively, tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Psychology (with a minimum four-year degree with a major in Psychology and registration with the Psychologists Board of Australia) and registration with AHPRA.
- Or, current registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse.
Additional Skills Required:
- Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal skills, to engage patients/clients effectively.
- Proven experience working with individuals with acute mental illnesses or disorders.
- Understanding of mental health principles, including consumer-focused and strengths-based practices in acute community mental health settings.
