We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our Newcastle-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on urban development projects, delivering high-quality design outcomes for education, residential, mixed-use, and commercial sectors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering, with experience working autonomously and collaboratively with engineers, clients, and architects. They will be confident in their ability to design essential civil elements such as roads, stormwater systems, carparks, pavements, and driveways.

A key aspect of this role will be the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their careers. The successful candidate will also have the potential to expand their responsibilities and take on leadership roles as the team grows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver designs for roads, on-site detention (OSD), water-sensitive urban design (WSUD), stormwater/drainage systems, carparks, pavements, and driveways.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop in their careers.
  • Contribute to project delivery, working collaboratively with engineers, clients, and architects.
Requirements:
  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in civil design engineering, gained in Australia.
  • Strong technical skills in MUSIC and DRAINS software, with bonus points for familiarity with AutoCAD, 12d, or Civil 3D.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
