About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Product Owner to enable the realisation of our Consumer data vision and requirements for design & build within the Digital Insurer program. This is a 12-month fixed term contract with possible extensions based on performance.

The location for this role can be Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear requirements are elicited, documented and provided to delivery squads. As a representative of business stakeholders, you will act as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

The key focus areas for this role include radical simplification and significant improvement in the speed & cost of change, which are critical measures of success for the program. You will work tirelessly to ensure these principles are applied to both requirements given to, and deliverables produced by delivery teams.

• You will work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze and understand business requirements, reviewing and producing technical and business specifications.
• You will prioritize backlog tasks, aligned with business needs and outcomes while understanding constraints and dependencies.
• You will drive regulatory and statutory compliance, addressing risks and preparing materials for effective communication of requirements and/or future changes to the landscape.
• You will resolve blockers quickly and contribute to proactive planning.
• You will foster strong relationships with business SMEs to ensure cohesion between the program & business as usual activities.
• You will work with architects and Delivery Enablement Teams (DET) to ensure reference and master data roadmaps are consistently updated in line with changing business needs.
• You will drive decisions aligned to North Star principles, requiring radical simplification.
• You will understand Suncorp's future state data architecture and tooling, driving data transformation, simplification (tooling & Environments) and value for the business.
• You will drive the right outcomes and trade-offs between simplification and business regulatory & business value requirements.
• You will understand impacts of pathway, prioritization and trade-offs across a complex landscape of business and technology data needs.
• You will ease critical focus on regulatory business requirements, related to data & reporting, through design & decision-making processes.
• You will support Data Stewards and Governance roles in upholding data maturity standards.
• You will act as a key conduit between the business and Data & Enterprise Technology, fostering a strong sense of collaboration.
• You will model team behaviours to deliver results and support others.
• You will contribute to a diverse and inclusive team environment, where safety and wellbeing are prioritized and actioned.
• You will motivate others towards meaningful work and common goals.

About You:

• A relevant tertiary qualification (Business, Commerce, Technology) is desirable but not essential.
• You have significant experience contributing to, or preparing business requirements documents.
• You have worked amongst technical teams to communicate requirements and support squads through delivery.
• You have supported technical business analysts to translate business requirements to technical, signing off requirements.
• You have insurance industry experience with knowledge of insurance data operations.
• You have developed presentation materials to simplify the message of a technical concept.
• You have collaborated with data & analytics teams with knowledge of Consumer, Commercial or Personal Injury Insurance.
• You have organised & facilitated engagement sessions with stakeholders.
• You have experience working under momentum model or agile ways of working.
• You have worked on data transformation programs.
• You have knowledge of ETL technologies and integration from data warehouses to 3rd party Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technologies - desirable.
