Job Overview

The Work Health and Safety (WHS) team is responsible for setting the strategic direction and delivery of WHS frameworks. This critical role will drive a consistent and robust approach to WHS management practice and performance across various Business Units (BUs), ensuring the health and wellbeing of workers and compliance with WHS legislative obligations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or participate in WHS-related incident investigations.
  • Ensure WHS practices comply with policies, standards, procedures, and fulfill all legislative obligations.
  • Coach, mentor, and redirect senior managers, managers, and employees on expected WHS behaviors.
  • Consult and communicate with senior managers, managers, employees, and the extended workforce on WHS matters impacting their health and safety.
  • Support projects and events to manage WHS risks, identify liabilities, and advise on gaps.
  • Monitor WHS performance of assigned BU functions, providing timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders, and advising on gaps as required.

Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree qualifications in OHS/Risk or a related area.
  • Extensive experience in WHS in complex, multi-site, multi-function business operations.
  • Proven experience working with quality certified systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction-related risks/hazards/controls.
