Assist the Foreman and Superintendent in the installation or renovation of water-based fire sprinkler systems. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the installation of fire sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Fire Sprinkler Fitter.
- Perform site clean-up, unloading, staging, and distributing work material to other employees at a job site.
- Cut, groove, and thread pipe as required.
- Install and test fire sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Fire Sprinkler Fitter.
- Receive guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Fire Sprinkler Fitter/Foreman.
- Participate in training classes to grow professionally and increase one's knowledge of the industry.
- Learn to use and safely operate construction equipment, including step ladders, extension ladders, scissor lifts, hand tools, power tools, cutting tools, and powder-actuated tools.
- Follow DynaFire's safety procedures and the client's safety program.
- Comply with all DynaFire policies and procedures.
- Utilize time management skills.
- Lift up to 75 lbs above head.
- Stand for 8 hours.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments, including temperatures over 100 degrees, cold temperatures, and confined spaces.
- Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including hats and shoes.
- Work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
- Submit required paperwork daily.
- Learn and read blueprints.
- Valid Driver's License
- No experience required. The following certifications are required within 36 months from date of hire:
- Basic knowledge of fire pumps, wet systems, pre-action systems, and dry systems.
