Job Overview

Central Station Records, Australia's longest running independent dance music label, is seeking a passionate A&R Manager with knowledge of emerging and established artists. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying talent, scouting, signing, developing, and curating musical content for the label.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scout and sign emerging artists and producers for commercial releases
  • Represent the label to industry partners and businesses
  • Collaborate with label staff on release creation and implementation
  • Coordinate audio recordings, producer hiring, song selection, and studio locations
  • Develop relationships with record producers, songwriters, mixers, video directors, photographers, and other professionals
  • Ensure brand plans align with artist and label strategies
  • Work with marketing teams on album and single art packaging, videos, digital content, photos, and tools
  • Manage mixing and mastering of releases
  • Liaise with label management on release scheduling and distribution
  • Maintain knowledge of charts, trends, and cultures to enhance A&R decision-making
  • Nurture external relationships with the wider music industry
Requirements:
  • Record label or music industry experience preferred
  • Passion for music and understanding of A&R
  • Strong sense of style and artistic merit
  • Knowledge of current trends and styles in music and culture
  • A good understanding of youth digital media landscape
  • Empathy with artists and the creative process
  • Ability to work under pressure and negotiate
  • Strong communication and administration skills
