Community Patient Transport Officer Job Opportunity

This is a key role within our organization, responsible for providing non-emergency community patient transport services across Perth.

As a Community Patient Transport Officer, you will be an integral part of our team, working towards delivering high-quality care and support to patients attending appointments. Your primary focus will be on providing safe and timely transportation for eligible patients, while ensuring their dignity and well-being are maintained at all times.

About the Role
  • Provide non-emergency patient transport services to eligible community patients.
  • Assist patients in and out of vehicles, including wheelchair-capable transport.
  • Follow clinical care directions from senior team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with our dispatch team to guarantee timely responses and optimize service efficiency.
  • Conduct regular vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness, stock, and equipment to ensure optimal vehicle condition.
  • Submit accurate patient records and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report hazards or incidents, adhering to established safety protocols to prevent reoccurrences.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
  • Unrestricted C-class driver's license and a proven safe driving record.
  • Valid WA working with children check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • National police clearance to be obtained prior to commencement date and commitment to renewing every three years.
  • Strong work ethic and dedication to delivering exceptional patient-centric care.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, fostering a culture of inclusivity.
  • Vaccination compliance as per government guidelines for healthcare workers.
  • Physical fitness to perform patient transport duties safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.

This role involves varied shifts, including occasional weekends and public holidays. Previous experience in disability, aged care, or patient transport services is highly regarded but not essential.
