Medical Equipment Specialist

The primary responsibility of a Medical Equipment Specialist is to ensure the sterilization of medical equipment and instruments in a hospital setting.
- Maintains accurate records of sterilized items, adhering to infection control policies.
- Collaborates with healthcare professionals to optimize sterilization processes.
- Participates in ongoing training to stay current on best practices and technologies.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and established protocols.
- Monitor and regulate temperature and humidity levels within the sterilization area for optimal conditions.
- Ensure all sterilized items are properly labeled and stored for easy access and retrieval.
- Identify and report discrepancies or issues related to sterilization procedures or equipment performance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a relevant field an asset.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting highly desirable.
