About the Role

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Hygiene Specialist to join our team at Central Adelaide Local Health. As a key member of our cleaning staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of designated areas, including patient rooms, corridors, and public spaces;
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, equipment, and furniture to prevent the spread of infection;
  • Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all areas, adhering to strict policies and procedures;
  • Participating in deep cleaning tasks, such as steam cleaning and carpet cleaning, as required;
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless service delivery.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workloads;
  • Experience in cleaning, particularly in a hospital or similar environment, with knowledge of safe work practices and hospital cleaning procedures;
  • Basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Equal Employment Opportunity principles;
  • Availability to work on a 7-day roster, including night shifts and weekends, as required;
  • Commitment to a 4-on, 2-off roster, with shifts scheduled from either 7:00 am to 3:40 pm or 2:20 pm to 11:00 pm.
