  1. Provide personalized support to clients in accordance with their individual needs and preferences.
  2. Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming, promoting independence and self-reliance.
  3. Offer transportation assistance to clients, ensuring seamless access to essential services and community engagement.
  4. Provide respite care to clients and their families, offering relief and support during challenging times.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  6. Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  7. Adhere to health and safety regulations, prioritizing the well-being and safety of clients at all times.
  8. Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with the latest developments and best practices in the disability sector.
Requirements
  • A minimum of high school education or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate II or IV in Individual Support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
  • Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends, showcasing flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Ability to work with diverse client bases, understanding the unique support needs of individuals based on their abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
  • Basic care and first aid skills, enhancing confidence and competence.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, facilitating efficient record-keeping and communication.
