About This Role

We're seeking experienced tailings engineers to collaborate with our Melbourne-based team. This opportunity is ideal for professionals looking to grow their career and expand their technical expertise within a supportive environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Interpreting laboratory test results and creating comprehensive summary reports.
  • Developing soil strength parameters using both laboratory and field data.
  • Designing tailings storage facilities and other earth structures under the guidance of senior specialists.
  • Managing project planning, preparing technical deliverables, and coordinating with clients and contractors.
  • Conducting tailings beach modeling, stability, and seepage analyses.
  • Mentoring junior staff members and contributing to project teams.
  • Fostering effective communication between clients and stakeholders.
  • Conducting site inspections, geotechnical investigations, QA/QC activities, and overseeing construction projects.
  • Identifying safety hazards and reporting incidents.
  • Delivering timely technical reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tailings/mine waste projects, preferably in consulting.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, slope stability programs, and geotechnical design software.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
