National Capital Hospital is seeking an experienced Operational Systems and Security Manager to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the hospital's IT and telephony systems, as well as ensuring the security and compliance of the facility.
About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing the hospital's IT and telephony systems, including network infrastructure, servers, and software
- Ensuring the security and compliance of the facility, including fire and emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance
- Coordinating with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the hospital's systems and facilities
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- General IT and telephony experience, with a focus on network infrastructure and security
- Fire and emergency training, with a focus on hospital settings
- Experience in facility management, with a focus on hospital settings
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on working with external contractors and vendors
Personal Competencies
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Ability to perform hands-on tasks, with a focus on technical expertise
- Practical and able to propose and implement solutions to issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Proactive in preventative operational systems management
- Ability to identify efficiencies and implement strategies to achieve results
Preventative Maintenance and Asset Management
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Scheduling maintenance tasks per manufacturer's recommendations and Australian Standards
- Implementing an efficient maintenance logging system, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs) for turn-around time and evaluating
- Adhering to the Healthscope IT and Security policies
- Prioritizing repairs and systems maintenance
External Contractors
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Utilizing external contractors where required and to meet statutory regulations
- Negotiating efficient prices
- Coordinating external contractors while on site
- Overseeing external contractors if hourly rate is quoted to ensure work is undertaken efficiently to minimize costs
Tools and Equipment
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained in a safe working manner
- Keeping work areas tidy and free from tripping and other hazards
- In consultation with the financial accountant, establishing trade accounts for the purchase of consumables
- Ensuring efficient use of recyclable material wherever possible
