Internal Control Specialist

About the role

You will be part of a dynamic team conducting comprehensive reviews of governance, financial, business, and operational processes. Your role will involve assessing and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, procedures, and processes, and providing valuable recommendations to management.

Ways of working

This role is based at our headquarters with a hybrid work model that includes in-office presence from Tuesday to Thursday.

Key priorities
- Prepare high-quality planning, fieldwork, and reporting materials in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with the Manager and team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Support the documentation and analysis of key processes to identify critical controls.
- Assist in assessing risks and controls to identify weaknesses and recommending improvements.
- Communicate review results to department managers and ensure understanding of review recommendations.
- Evaluate and monitor corrective actions taken to address identified control weaknesses.
- Participate in internal departmental tasks and key standing activities as needed.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, or a related field.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
- Commitment to developing and maintaining necessary knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
- Commercially minded with a focus on building strong relationships.
- High integrity, professional accountability, and proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities.
