This role is a key part of the academic team at Murdoch University, delivering high-quality clinical training and supervision to students. The successful candidate will be a clinical specialist with a strong track record in theriogenology / animal reproduction, as well as experience in teaching and research.

About the Role

The Senior Lecturer/Academic position is a senior-level appointment within the School of Veterinary Medicine. As a member of the academic team, you will play a leading role in developing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in veterinary science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of teaching programs in theriogenology/animal reproduction, including preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical sessions and studio sessions.
  • Supervise honours, Masters by Coursework, HDR and postgraduate students, providing guidance and support throughout their studies.
  • Conduct research in theriogenology/animal reproduction, securing competitive grants and producing high-quality research outputs.
  • Participate in the development of new services and clinical techniques within Theriogenology, contributing to the growth and success of the discipline.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A clinical specialist qualification (DECAR, DACT or FANZCVS) in theriogenology / animal reproduction.
  • Substantial experience in teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • A strong track record of academic excellence, including publication in reputable journals and presentation at national and international conferences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students and external stakeholders.
