We foster a safe, inclusive, and constructive place to work. Together with our portfolio agencies, we are responsible for planning, building, operating, and maintaining Victoria's transport, planning, and land services for use by all.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate and deliver high-quality advice on development applications, planning scheme amendments, priority projects, and statutory planning matters.
- Produce high-calibre planning assessment reports and briefs and provide authoritative advice to senior management on complex development and built form issues.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships and partnerships within the department and with other government agencies to ensure the successful delivery of advice and assessments.
- Negotiate strongly and effectively with applicants and key stakeholders to deliver better planning outcomes through the statutory planning process.
A relevant tertiary qualification and significant experience in urban planning; particularly, the assessment of large-scale and complex development approvals is mandatory. Experience in statutory planning permits, planning scheme amendments, and development processes is desirable.
The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing complex and/or strategically significant development proposals within a Melbourne central city, metropolitan, and regional environment contexts. Effectively negotiating with clients/stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives are essential skills.
