Service Cost Analyst

The Department of Education is seeking a skilled IT Service Cost Analyst to join its Business Management Services Unit within the Information Management and Technology Division.
This role offers a unique opportunity to play a critical part in financial governance across one of the largest technology environments in Victoria, supporting services to over 1,500 schools, 50,000 teachers, and 650,000 students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop Financial Models: Create service costing models and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making at a strategic level.
- Risk Identification: Identify financial trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving in complex financial environments.
- Communication: Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Prioritization and Time Management: Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality outputs in a dynamic environment.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, service costing, or budget management.
- Background: Background in IT services, public sector, or shared services (preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong financial modelling and Excel skills; experience with Oracle, SAP, or PowerBI is advantageous.
