About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Chef to join our team at Lizard Island Resort, a premier destination for culinary excellence. As a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for designing, preparing, and presenting high-quality dishes that showcase your creativity and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
  • Manage inventory control, cost of goods sold, and profit and loss reporting to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to hazard analysis and critical control points, and food safety protocols
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to deliver exceptional guest experiences and exceed expectations

Requirements

  • Diploma in Professional Cookery Level 5 or equivalent
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate is beneficial
  • 2+ years' experience in monitoring food and labor costs, menu costing, and development
  • Experience in ordering inventory, cost controls, and handling invoices
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts over a 7-day-a-week roster
