About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Chef to join our team at Lizard Island Resort, a premier destination for culinary excellence. As a Demi Chef, you will be responsible for showcasing your expertise in menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Menu Development: Design and prepare high-quality dishes with creative flair, ensuring a unique and exceptional dining experience for our guests.
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement effective inventory control systems, ensuring accurate forecasting and minimizing waste.
- Cost Control: Estimate food and labor costs, and secure food supplies while managing the departmental budget.
- Food Safety: Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to hazard analysis and critical control points, and food safety protocols.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate and assist team members with various kitchen duties, and engage with guests to enhance the first-class guest dining experience.
Requirements
- Culinary Qualifications: Diploma in Professional Cookery Level 5, or equivalent.
- Food Safety Certification: Food Safety Supervisor certificate is beneficial.
- Experience: 2+ years' experience monitoring food and labor cost, menu costing, and development.
- Inventory Management: Experience ordering inventory, as well as procedures including cost controls, and handling invoices.
- Flexibility: Ability to work a variety of shifts over a 7-day-a-week roster.
