Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to oversee the development, execution, and maintenance of mechanical and piping projects across various Victorian assets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all stages of the project lifecycle, including engineering assessments, scope development, shutdown support, and asset integrity planning for fixed equipment and rotating machinery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mechanical scopes for projects across fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (API, ASME, AS) and internal systems.
  • Investigate failures and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Support inspections, shutdowns, repairs, and upgrades through technical planning and execution.
  • Develop technical specifications, manage contractor deliverables, and contribute to procurement decisions.
  • Support Management of Change processes and project risk assessments.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with safety, quality, and performance expectations.

Requirements
  • Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with project experience in the oil and gas or similar industry.
  • At least 7 years' experience in oil & gas, energy, or heavy industry.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (RPEV) with Mechanical expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of pressure equipment, piping systems, and rotating machinery.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, and Australian standards.
  • Experience across design, execution, and QA/QC inspection.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with operations, maintenance, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to site regularly.
