We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Sydney CBD. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for financial modelling for current and prospective projects in Australia. This will include the preliminary assessment of project opportunities, the analysis of development activities leading to financial close, model maintenance and valuation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to assess project feasibility, including cash flow forecasts and risk assessments.
  • Provide in-depth financial analysis to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and investors, communicating key insights and financial outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, energy pricing, and regulatory changes to refine models and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Data processing and the analysis of results, providing conclusions and recommendations to senior management, as well as third parties.
  • The management of financial model assumptions through the financial model suite.
  • The analysis and quantification of risks and scenarios to support decision making.
  • The production of financial and investment returns analysis for the purpose of reporting to senior management.
  • Supporting activities related to the preparation of an RFP response and tender submissions.


Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, business, economics or engineering
  • 2 to 5 years' experience in financial modelling for non-recourse debt financing for infrastructure, energy or real estate assets in Australia.
  • Experience ideally gained in a commercial or investment bank, investment fund, accounting firm or financial advisory firm (but not essential if supported by suitable experience track record).
  • Understanding of financial modelling principles and project finance appraisal techniques in environments where cashflow drives FID.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills with a proven track record in working with large and complex spreadsheets.
  • A creative approach and ability to think outside the box.
  • Advanced analytical, numerical and organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both with internal and external stakeholders.
