">Overview:
">As a General Manager, Major Offenders Unit, you will lead a team of staff responsible for the effective management of people in custody assessed as being major offenders and those in Long Term Management. The role requires strategic direction to the unit and delivery of day-to-day operations.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- ">
- Lead a team of staff to effectively assess, classify, and determine sentence planning and placement for people considered major offenders within Victoria's prison system.">
- Develop, manage, and deliver best practice sentence management processes including assessment, classification, review, placement, and transfer functions to ensure timely, secure, safe, and appropriate placement and intervention for individuals.">
- Develop, manage, and ensure the quality of delivery of sentence management functions ensuring that sentence planning and practices are consistently applied statewide, in accordance with policies and procedures - including Commissioner's Requirements, Deputy Commissioner's Instructions, and the Sentence Management Manual.">
Requirements:
">To be successful in this role, you will have a demonstrated understanding of best practice sentence management principles and legislation relevant to prisoner classification processes. You will also have a demonstrated understanding of Corrections Victoria's operations, policies, and procedures.
">Qualifications:
">A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
