Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate

This is a fixed-term position available for a period of 24 months. The successful applicant will be part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team working closely with distinguished scientists. This team comprises researchers from leading institutions in Australia and international partners such as MIT and Johns Hopkins.

The role involves developing nanoscale opto-electrodes for the modulation of neuronal and cardiomyocyte activities, with potential to shape the future of biomedical imaging and clean energy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting original research and publishing high-quality outputs.
  • Contributing to seeking research funding from external sources.
  • Developing extensive knowledge and skills in organic and inorganic synthesis of hybrid nanoparticles, optical characterization of single nanoparticle spectroscopy.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.

The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, material physics, particularly opto-electronics and nanotechnology. They should demonstrate a strong track record of competitive research grants, extensive knowledge in synthetic methods for hybrid nanoparticles, and experience with fluorescence microscopy and single nanoparticle spectroscopy.
