Job Title: School Officer - Assisting Student Learning

St Joseph's Catholic School, Mount Isa is seeking a dedicated School Officer - ASL to provide learning and classroom support to all students, including those with identified additional needs.

About the Role

The School Officer - Assisting Student Learning works under the direction and supervision of a teacher to provide individualized support to students, enabling them to participate in learning and school activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with specific learning needs, including scribing, reading, and providing feedback and observations to the classroom teacher(s)
  • Assist students with engaging in learning activities, reinforcing appropriate student behavior, and providing practical assistance with classroom technology
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as record maintenance, producing resources, and other classroom administrative support
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy classroom environment, including storage facilities and setting up appropriate classroom/learning space
  • Provide routine support to students with physical needs, such as mobility support, and personal care, such as toileting and feeding
Requirements
  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
