The Design and Finishing Trades Department at Holmesglen delivers a diverse range of programs spanning fashion and interior design, furniture manufacturing and upholstery, trowel trades, painting, and printing. Our offerings support students across various stages of their educational journey, with qualifications ranging from Certificate II through to advanced diplomas and degree-level programs.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced educator to deliver the Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology program. In this role, you will teach apprentices the practical skills needed to fabricate, repair, and customise vehicle and boat interiors.

  • You will bring industry knowledge to life through hands-on training, while also encouraging apprentices to develop essential communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • At Holmesglen, you will be supported by an experienced teaching team and have the opportunity to make a real impact in preparing students for rewarding careers in the automotive and marine trimming industry.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students in the Certificate III in Automotive and Marine Trimming Technology program.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure they meet course requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Recent, hands-on experience in motor vehicle and boat interior trimming.
  • A proven ability to engage and support students from diverse backgrounds using flexible teaching strategies.
  • Experience in applying up-to-date training and assessment practices to meet course and learner needs.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or an equivalent predecessor/successor qualification.
  • A recognised qualification in a relevant vocational area at least to the level being delivered and assessed.
