Join Our Livestock Career Development Program

The 2026 Livestock Career Development Program - Rockhampton QLD is a 24-month program designed for top talent to gain valuable experience in all aspects of Livestock activity.

As a participant, you will receive the skills and training you need to be a future leader or technical expert within the Livestock Industry. The program includes four leadership and skill-building workshops, on-the-ground training, and mentors for ongoing support.

You'll have the opportunity to work in both saleyard and branch environments, learning effective selling and relationship-building techniques with guidance from experienced livestock employees and leaders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accelerated learning opportunities to kick start your career within Livestock
  • Professional networking with peers and leaders across the business
  • Placement mobility after the 24-month program; you may be required to relocate to maximize your experience
  • Livestock skills – next generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, Auctions Plus, auctioneering, wool technical and market requirements, and emerging technology

Requirements:

  • A strong desire to learn and succeed in the Livestock industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong negotiation abilities
  • Successful completion of Year 12
  • Minimum 24 months experience within the Agricultural industry, ideally in Livestock
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian permanent resident status – temporary VISA holders are not eligible
  • Vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
  • Genuine interest in working and learning about the Livestock Industry
