Job Summary:

The Visual Effects Executive Leader will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of visual effects projects from conception to completion. This includes managing client relationships, bidding, project planning, resource allocation, budgeting, scheduling, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of visual effects production methodologies, domain knowledge, and experience in managing teams and driving business growth.

About You:

You will be expected to demonstrate domain knowledge for the following: The Visual Effects Pipeline, VFX Production Methodologies, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Shotgun, Project Management methodologies, Windows, Mac, and Linux based operating system, using command line tools and file system navigation. Experience with proprietary tools in your workflow is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a positive client relationship through both written and verbal communication as well as high levels of client satisfaction by accurately fulfilling client orders and resolving client problems accurately, on time and with high quality.
  • Provide a positive and professional face for the Company to the client, including taking a pragmatic approach, in the interest of achieving the company's operational and financial goals.
  • Manage the Client's expectations and conflicts to create positive outcomes on behalf of the Client and Company.
  • Facilitate and optimise the handover process between Sales and the Production team to ensure accurate transition of bids into production.
  • Proactively Identify, track and manage risks on all awarded projects and with the support of sales on all potential projects.
  • Provide strategies for execution, mitigation of risks and show commencement procedures.
  • Identify changes to work resulting in favourable or unfavourable outcomes – negotiate changes with client on behalf of company.
  • Monitor project progress and address potential issues and roadblocks.
  • Maintain standards between Producers and Projects for production reporting.
  • In concert with the Business Development Manager, identify new business opportunities and assist in bidding as required.
  • Identifying and negotiating outsource vendors for sub-contracting work and identifying strategic partnerships.
  • When conflicted between the needs of the Company and those of the Client, the Executive Producer will act in the best interests of the Company.
  • During peak times in production, it may be required that you operate as VFX Producer on select projects as identified by Head of Production.Reporting:
  • Weekly reporting of project progress, performance, and forecasts to the Executive Team.Sales:
  • In concert with the Business Development Manager, provide assistance and/or undertaking of, timely bidding assessments and quotations. This may also include sourcing of new leads or future projects and feasibility and project risk assessment including assessment of projects in accordance with Company margin ambitions. Development and maintaining professional relationships:
  • Establish and develop professional relationships with Studio Executives, VFX Producers, VFX Supervisors and other Studio and industry representatives.
  • This may also involve interstate and overseas travel from time to time to assist with relationship building, project management and reinforcing the RSP brand.Mentorship & Leadership:
  • Mentor the Producers on the show and be available to trouble-shoot.
  • Lead by example, and foster a culture of high-performance and accountability.
  • Support and mentor more junior members of the production team (Producers and Production Managers) in client communications, client negotiations and financial tracking of projects.On Set / On Location Responsibilities:
  • Have a thorough understanding of shooting schedules, including how they shift and change, to ensure the company is always kept up to date with any unexpected changes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies and best practices in visual effects production.

Salary:$120,000 - $180,000 per year
