Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our corporate affairs function, encompassing external communications, media relations, government relations, stakeholder engagement, and all external communications and marketing activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for representing the company within the customer and industry community, maintaining a deep understanding of the political landscape, and identifying opportunities for growth and expansion. They will also be expected to establish strong relationships with Defence, government, and key media stakeholders, and collaborate with Group communication efforts to communicate relevant information to investors and ensure effectiveness and consistency of communications.

The ideal applicant will present with significant experience in government relations, communications, and/or marketing within Defence Industry or ASX listed companies in Australia, underpinned by relevant tertiary qualifications. They will demonstrate experience liaising with all levels of government, including clearly established relationships with appropriate senior government stakeholders and a strong network of senior defence and government contacts. Additionally, they will possess expert knowledge of the processes of government and defence, including decision making, management, accountability systems, procedures, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the company within the customer and industry community
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the political landscape and identify opportunities for growth and expansion
  • Establish strong relationships with Defence, government, and key media stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Group communication efforts to communicate relevant information to investors
  • Ensure effectiveness and consistency of communications

Requirements:
  • Significant experience in government relations, communications, and/or marketing within Defence Industry or ASX listed companies in Australia
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Experience liaising with all levels of government
  • Clearly established relationships with appropriate senior government stakeholders and a strong network of senior defence and government contacts
  • Expert knowledge of the processes of government and defence
