About the Opportunity

We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive individuals to commence a career in Electrical trades with Port Macquarie Hastings Council.

As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work on a variety of projects and tasks that contribute to the community's infrastructure, including electrical infrastructure construction, three-phase motors and control switchboard installations, and industrial wiring systems for water and sewer processing plants.

You will have the opportunity to work with diversely skilled Electrical Tradespeople and other trained professionals to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment. Additionally, you will gain experience in telemetry services, including instrumentation, communication networks, PLCs, and SCADA systems.

The Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrician course will be delivered at Port Macquarie TAFE, providing you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your career.

  • A current driver's license (Red P's or more)
  • The ability to comply with uniform and PPE requirements

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment type: Full-time role (38 hours per week with a 9-day fortnight)

Weekly starting salary: $651 to $808 (depending on your highest year of schooling completed and number of years since you finished school)

Allowances: Adverse working conditions, sewer choke allowance, and tool allowance
