Job Overview

The Minara Resources team has an opportunity for a skilled and experienced mine planning engineer to join our dedicated workforce.

We are Australia's largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA's northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
  • As part of a proactive and committed team, you will provide leadership to professionals responsible for mine design and scheduling services.
  • You will be responsible for:
  • Leading Mine Production Engineers by providing direction and technical oversight.
  • Delivering mine designs and schedules over the short- to medium-term planning horizons.
  • Monitoring ore blending requirements.
  • Reconciling actual performance against plans.
  • Implementing new software tools to improve technical outputs.
  • Improving processes for delivery of designs and plans.
  • Providing support to Mine Engineering special projects as required.

About You

This role would suit a tertiary qualified Mining Engineer with proven production, mine planning, and mine design experience seeking to gain experience in supervision and management of a team.

Key qualifications include:

  • Interest in leading, mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Experience in an open pit mining environment.
  • Interest in strategic mine planning activities including in-pit tailings, generating pit designs and infrastructure layouts.
  • Past exposure to mine design and scheduling software.
  • The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Unrestricted Quarry Managers' Certification would be advantageous.
