Aboriginal Health Specialist

This is an Identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.
The role empowers Aboriginal communities to take control of their health and wellbeing through clinical and community programs.
The main focus areas are in maternal and child health, including immunisations, development and maternal screening, and parenting advice.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient contact and clinical support in Maternal and Child Health.
- Supports health promotion initiatives to enhance Indigenous health in our communities.
- Reports to a Team Leader.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered nurse or midwife with immunization qualification or willingness to obtain.
- Passion for Child and Family Health.
- Effective communication skills.
- Commitment to Primary health care principles.
- Understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal communities.
Additional Requirements:
- Minimum 12 months experience in Child and Family health.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
