At Calvary Riverina Hospital, our multidisciplinary team at the Drug and Alcohol Centre in Wagga Wagga seeks a dedicated professional to provide generalist counselling services to clients in the residential program.
About the Role- The ideal candidate will provide evidence-informed services including psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, counselling, and other relevant modalities to clients.
- Deliver interventions to motivate clients towards change, including harm minimisation and relapse prevention strategies.
- Identify, respond to, and escalate significant risk factors or deterioration in client condition, developing an appropriate management plan.
- Establish caring, supportive, and professional relationships with clients and their families/carers.
- Hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Social Work, Counselling) and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or Registration with the Australian Counselling Association.
- Demonstrate high-level knowledge and application of alcohol and other drugs theoretical frameworks, national guidelines, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Display a sound understanding of professional, ethical, and legal requirements underpinning the treatment and clinical management of alcohol and other drug problems.
- Show ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload, delivering care with integrity and accountability.
