The National Health Information Management Manager provides strategic leadership and management of health information services, health information systems, and clinical data governance across our national network. This role is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing health information services and systems, including quality, integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of electronic and paper medical records, clinical coding, grouping, and analysis of clinical information for billing and health fund negotiations, quality, and research purposes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement health information strategies and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead and manage a team of health information professionals to ensure the delivery of high-quality health information services and systems.
- Collaborate with clinical leaders and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of health information systems and services with clinical practice.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including health funds, government agencies, and other healthcare organizations.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of clinical data and medical records.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to ensure the quality and safety of clinical data and medical records.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in health information management.
- Bachelor of Health Science (Health Information Management) or equivalent.
- Eligibility for membership to HIMAA.
- Previous health information management experience.
- Auditing experience and spreadsheet skills.
- Postgraduate qualifications in education or vocational training desirable.
