About the Role

This Senior Radiation Safety Advisor position offers the ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about radiation safety and has the expertise to lead our university's radiation safety management program.

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive radiation safety management program that ensures compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Key responsibilities include providing expert technical advice, conducting investigations, and leading radiation safety training programs.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will also need to have excellent communication skills and be able to engage effectively with stakeholders within the Curtin community.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A relevant degree or qualifications in Science, Engineering, or related fields such as Physics, Materials Management, or Materials Science.
  • Extensive experience, knowledge, and commitment to radiation safety-based practices with demonstrated ability to provide radiation safety management expertise.
  • Radiation Safety qualification(s) as outlined in the Radiation Safety (Qualifications) Regulation and the ability to be registered as a Radiation Safety Officer with the Radiological Council of Western Australia.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, interpret and apply relevant State and Commonwealth legislation and regulations; and implement best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to use a range of media and strategies to communicate WHS information and knowledge to others in the workplace to influence stakeholders and achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to address a range of radiation safety-related issues.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders within the Curtin community.
Key Skills and Qualifications
